Wrapped in Love


Wrapped in Love began in 2009 as a project of the Nurture and Outreach Committee. In 2011, it was switched to the Missions Committee. The goal was to make quilts from donated scraps; place ties in them but leave them untied and hang them for the congregation to say a prayer as they tied each tie for a person in need of special prayers. Then the quilt would be presented to the person as we "wrapped them in love". Since the first quilt was made for Meghan Logue in 2009, and with God's blessing, we have sewn, tied, prayed for and presented twenty-two quilts. These were made from scraps donated along with three sewing machines and an ironing board. An iron, notions, batting and backing were purchased with donated funds. An application form was developed in order to more efficiently manage the project. The group of approximately nine women meet once a month, or more as needed, to work on the project. The quilts and prayers have been receive with joy, tears and love. A photo journal of the projects progress has been kept and is available for all to read.
